About

Aloha!
My name is S. Naomi Nordquist aka Sunny and I am the heart & soul of Iridescently Sunny. Born and raised in New York in a Japanese American household(with a mix of ancestry of Swedish, English, Irish, Scottish, French) and now living in Hawaii. I have a background in culinary arts and currently learning how to become a doula. I love art and things that are unique. I've always wanted to start my own small business and hope that my handmade jewelry brings you joy, confidence and a taste of Hawaii.
All shells are always collected empty by beachcombing and snorkeling.
Mahalo for supporting my small business!
Story
During my first visit to Hawaii in May 2021, I visited the Kaka’ako Farmers Market and bought my first pair of pearl earrings and a miter shell necklace. I was amazed that pearls and shells from the ocean could be transformed into jewelry. A year later, I learned that the artist who made my pearl earrings had moved to Okinawa and was exclusively selling her jewelry there. There was no hope for me to buy more of her pearl earrings unless I traveled to Okinawa. That was when I was determined and inspired to teach myself how to make my own jewelry. For now it's just earrings but eventually necklaces, bracelets and rings too.
